In the land of eternal thought, Buddhism permeates Bhutan's culture. Bhutan’s religious thought and rich mythology are embodied in thousands of wall paintings, scrolls, images, all across the land. To penetrate to the heart of Bhutanese mythology, one has to begin with the symbolism depicted by the Garuda, the Snow-Lion, the Tiger, the Elephant and the Horse. The Post & Telegraph Department of His Majesty’s Government of Bhutan have pleasure in issuing a set of fifteen stamps depicting these legendary animals. |
